QUETTA: Pakistan Muslim League (N) provincial president, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail was sworn in as the 24th Governor of Balochistan on Monday morning. Chief Justice Balochistan High Court (BHC), Mr. Justice Hashim Khan Kakar administered oath to the newly appointed Governor of Balochistan.
Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, the outgoing Governor, Malik Abdul Wali Kakar, provincial ministers and other high-level officials attended the oath-taking ceremony.
Mr. Mandokhail belongs to Balochistan’s Zhob district and remained provincial ministers for different times in the past. He has been leading the PML N in Balochistan since former chief minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri parted his ways with the party. “I would try to present Balochistan’s case in an effective way in the Center”, Mr. Mandokhail stated.
Mr. Mandokhail is considered to be one of the influential politicians in the province. “It is my responsibility to speak for Balochistan everywhere”, the newly appointed Governor said.
President Asif Ali Zardari appointed Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif the other day.
