QUETTA: Flash floods have claimed 11 human lives and injured another 21 in various districts of Balochistan during the last three days. As per the statistics shared by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), rains and flash floods have claimed human lives in Dukki, Harnai, Sibi, Zhob, and other parts of Balochistan. Rescue workers and district administrations have shifted the injured people to nearby basic health units for medical treatment. "All injured are out of danger", Naseer Ahmed Nasar, the Director-General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said. He said all departments were put on high alert to tackle any emergency situation.  During the last three days, all Eastern and Northern Balochistan districts have received heavy rainfall. Torrential rains have severely affected routine lives. The Balochistan government has directed the deputy commissioners of the affected districts to assess the damages to the farmers and submit a report in this regard.  "Torrential rains have also killed 366 livestock in Balochistan", the DG PDMA said. He stated that flash floods have also destroyed standing crops of tomatoes, potatoes, and other vegetables in Barkhan, Harnai and other parts of Balochistan. Flash floods have played havoc in Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibi, Harnai, Zhob, Sherani, Musakhail and other parts of Eastern and Northern Balochistan. Farmers remained the worst sufferers of torrential rains in the province.  The Growers Action Committee (GAC) has demanded that the Balochistan government should compensate the farmers who have suffered financial losses because of heavy rainfall. "Provincial government should assess the damages and compensate the farmers", Haji Abdul Rehman Bazai, the central leader of the GAC demanded.  The GAC has threatened to intensify its protest against the government if it failed to pay compensation to the farmers' affected districts of Balochistan.
