Baloch intellectual Dr. Kahoor Khan passes away

QUETTA: Renowned Baloch intellectual and political figure, Dr. Kahoor Khan Baloch breathed his last on Wednesday. Dr. Baloch died of cardiac arrest in Karachi, family sources confirmed to daily Quetta Voice.

Dr. Kahoor Baloch had recently joined National Party (NP) and was serving as central secretary research of the party. Former Chief Minister and Chief of NP, Dr. Malik Baloch, Senator Tahir Bizenjo, and other party leaders have expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Dr. Kahoor.

The late doctor was elected as the Chairman of Baloch Students Organization (BSO) in 1986 and played a key role in students’ politics. He belonged to the Shapak area of district Kech Balochistan.

After completion of education, Dr. Kahoor had joined the government service as a section officer in the civil secretariat. He served as secretary of social welfare and remained in other key positions in the government of Balochistan.

Dr. Malik Baloch and other leaders have paid rich tribute to Dr. Kahoor Khan Baloch for his struggle for the rights of Balochs in the country.
