Balochistan health: 31 ICUs to be established

Balochistan government has decided to establish 31 intensive care units (ICUs) across the province to improve health facilities. Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan chaired a high-level meeting regarding the health sector on Thursday.

Secretary Specialized Health Care and Medical Education, Noor ul Haq Baloch, Secretary Primary and Secondary Health, Aziz Ahmed Jamali, Secretary Building Control, Ghulam Ali Baloch, Principle Secretary to the CM Zahid Saleem, Secretary Information Sohail ur Rehman, Special Secretary Finance, Lal Jan Jaffar have also attended the meeting.

10-bed ICU would be established across Balochistan

The meeting was told that state-of-the-art ICUs would be established in Balochistan to make sure provision of better health facilities to the masses. In all districts 10-bed ICU would be established, the health officials informed the meeting.

Under the COVID19 response program, 31 district headquarters hospitals and 7 tertiary care hospitals would be upgraded across the province.

“Provision of health facilities is one of the top priorities of the government”, Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan told the meeting. He urged the officials to ensure timely implementation of the government’s decision regarding the health sector.

The meeting thoroughly reviewed the allocation of funds for various projects in the health department and made a number of decisions in this regard.
