2 policemen martyred in Mastung attack

At least 2 policemen martyred in a terrorist attack in Balochistan’s Mastung city on Monday night. Police sources said miscreants opened fire at a police vehicle in the Zhali area of Mastung.
The firing left two policemen martyred and one injured. Rescue workers and police shifted the injured policemen to the hospital for medical treatment.

Martyred policemen identified as Imdad and Nazeer 

The martyred policemen identified as Imdad Ali and Nazeer Ahmed. The miscreants managed to escape unhurt from the spot. Police and other personnel of other law enforcement agencies reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway. Policemen were on routine patrolling when targeted by terrorists.

Home Minister condemns the attack

Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove strongly condemned the terrorist attack. In a condemnation statement after the terror attack, Mr. Langove said the terrorists involved in the attack would be brought to justice. He directed the police to arrest the culprits behind the attack.

Mastung is one of the sensitive districts of Balochistan. Militants in the area have targeted civilians, Shia Hazara and security forces in the past. The city links Quetta with Western Balochistan up to the Iranian border and with the country’s largest city of Karachi.
