Court orders UoB VC to pay salaries of employees

Balochistan High Court (BHC) has ordered the Vice-Chancellor University of Balochistan to pay salaries and pensions of the employees. The court passed this order during the hearing of the employees’ protest case on Friday.
A division bench of the BHC comprising Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Mr. Justice Kamran Malakhail passed directed the VC to enhance the revenue of the university to meet growing expenditures.
BHC asks VC to conduct an audit through a private firm
The bench asked the VC and registrar to conduct an audit of the university through a private firm and close all unnecessary campuses across the province. “Our protest is as per university act”, Dr. Kaleemullah Bareech, the head of the university academic staff association told the court.
The bench directed the university administration to acquire funds from the provincial government and pay the salaries and pensions of employees. The court asked the administration to take action against ghost employees and ensure transparency and merit.
