Blast kills 2 injured 5 in Quetta

A blast killed 2 people and injured 5 outside the deputy commissioner’s office in Quetta on Friday evening. The nature of the blast could not be confirmed immediately. “We are investigating the nature of the explosion”, deputy commissioner Quetta Major (R) Aurangzaib Badini told reporters.

“Two dead bodies brought to the hospital”, an official of the civil hospital said. Initially, the officials described the blast as an explosion of a transformer.

The deputy commissioner said all the injured have been shifted to the hospital for medical treatment. Police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies were quick at the scene. They cordoned off the area to probe into the blast.

The sound of the blast heard far and wide 

The sound of the blast heard far and wide causing panic in the city. The blast also damaged some vehicles. Eyewitnesses said the bomb went off when the participants of the Kashmir rally passed from the area. In solidarity with Kashmiris, political parties and members of civil society took out rallies on Friday.

The injured of the blast shifted to civil hospital Quetta for medical treatment. An emergency imposed in the hospital to treat the injured of the blast.

Shahwani condemns the attack

The spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani strongly condemned the terrorist attack. He said the government was taking all possible steps to provide better medical treatment to the injured.

Mr. Shahwani said the terrorists involved in the attack would be brought to justice.

Security tightened in Quetta 

Security tightened in and around Quetta in the aftermath of the blast. Police patrolling increased to ensure peace. Checking of vehicles at all entry and exit points also tightened in the provincial capital.
