QUETTA: Balochistan National Party leader, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, took to the social media platform X to address recent developments regarding his residency. He confirmed that he has been residing in the United Arab Emirates since 2009.

Despite this, he highlighted his active political engagement, having successfully contested and won seats as a Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) and Member of National Assembly (MNA) in two elections held during this period.

In his statement, Mengal emphasized that the current situation differs only in his renewed commitment to advocate for Balochistan’s interests at the National Assembly and on all relevant platforms. Despite being targeted, he expressed no regrets and anticipated even more challenges.

When questioned about potential limitations on his voice within the assembly, he defiantly asserted that while attempts may be made to silence him in that setting, his unwavering dedication to the public remains steadfast, indicating his readiness to continue raising his voice for Balochistan in the face of adversity.
