QUETTA: The death toll in the devastating Mastung blast has tragically risen to 60, prompting the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) to launch a case against the unidentified terrorists responsible for the heinous act. As the injured flood into government-run hospitals in Quetta, an emergency has been declared by the provincial government to ensure swift medical treatment for the victims.

In a significant development, those seriously injured in the blast have been transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) under the directive of Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, according to Federal Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti.

“Five more injured succumbed to injuries in hospital”, Waseem Baig, the Spokesman Civil Hospital Quetta said. He said the condition of over one dozen injured in the blast was still serious. Mr. Baig informed that 25 injured in the Mastung blast were discharged from the hospital after improving in their condition.

“Balochistan Government Orders CTD Probe, Vows to Bring Mastung Terrorists to Justice”

The Balochistan government has directed the CTD to probe the Mastung blast. “The government has directed the CTD to probe the deadly bombing”, Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister, Ali Mardan Domki said.

The CM visited the hospital and inquired about the health condition of the injured during the blast. He directed the health department to ensure sure provision of the best healthcare to those injured in the Mastung blast. “The terrorists behind this terrorist attack would be brought to justice”, Ali Mardan Domki told reporters on the occasion of his visit.

“Shutter-Down Strike Across Balochistan as Outrage Grows Over The Incident”

 

Ittehad Tanzeem Ahle Sunat Balochistan announced a shutter-down strike across Balochistan to mourn the tragic incident. Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club, Allama Muhammad Qasam Qasmi lashed out at the provincial and federal governments for what he claimed their failure to provide security to the peaceful procession in the Mastung district of Balochistan.

“We want justice”, he demanded. The religious scholars demanded that the traders’ community and people belonging to various walks of life support the shutter-down strike to condemn the deadly terrorist attack in Mastung.
