Balochistan ministers want officers of their own choice

QUETTA : Newly appointed Balochistan cabinet members have demanded of the Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and Chief Secretary to appoint officers of their own choice. “All ministers want provincial secretaries of their own choice”, a well-placed source at the CM Secretariat told Quetta Voice.

The new Balochistan cabinet sworn in on November 7 after the election of Mr. Bizenjo as the 17th CM of Balochistan. The present set up has already started transferring blue-eyed officers having key positions in the former CM Jam Kamal Khan government. Although, some secretaries succeeded in convincing their new political bosses to retain positions.

He said senior officers who remained OSDs or on weak positions have already started lobbying to get attractive positions. All eyes are focused on the planning and development department, finance, C&W, agriculture, education, health and other departments.

The ministers have also demanded of the CM to approve provincial secretaries, commissioners, deputy commissioners and other officers of their own choice. Only then, we can perform well, an insider of the meeting told this scribe.

The provincial government has already transferred deputy commissioner Lasbella, Pishin. The transfer of DC Lasbella also irked former CM Jam Kamal Khan.
