Balochistan budget: 450 IT teachers’ posts approved for high schools

The Balochistan government has approved 450 posts of information technology (IT) teachers grade-17 during the financial year’s budget for 2020-21. The IT teachers would be posted in high schools across the province to impart modern and information technology’s knowledge to students, Ghulam Ali Baloch, the Secretary Secondary Education Balochistan told the daily Quetta Voice on Thursday.
The number of high schools across Balochistan is over 12,00 and these IT teachers would be posted in key schools with maximum enrollment to enable our students to compete on national and international levels, Mr. Baloch mentioned.
Earlier, the Balochistan education department had decided to appoint 12,00 IT teachers to make sure the provision of information technology education in all high schools. However, the financial crisis developed in the aftermath of COVID19 compelled the government to reduce the number of posts.
The teachers would be appointed through the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC). Soon after the budget, the vacancies would be sent to the BPSC for the recruitment process, the Secretary Secondary Education mentioned.
The Balochistan government has given priority to education and health sectors in the budget for the financial year 2020-21. The government has also decided to upgrade a number of primary, middle, and high schools across the province to make sure the provision of education to the masses.
