The notification about the national finance commission (NFC) award was challenged in Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Friday. Senior lawyers, Kamran Murtaza advocate and Mir Attaullah Langove challenged the notification regarding the NFC award through a constitutional petition.

“NFC is a constitutional forum and appointment of finance-adviser is illegal”, senior lawyers mentioned in their constitutional petition. The BHC admitted the application and issued notices to the concerned officials regarding the petition.

The court fixed 21st May as the hearing date for the constitutional petition. The Balochistan government had nominated Javed Jabbar, the former federal information minister as the member from the province in the NFC  award.

“Javed Jabbar is a writer as he cannot be nominated for a technical post”, Mir Attaullah Langove told the daily Quetta Voice. Member National Assembly from Gwadar-Lasbella, Muhammad Aslam Bhootani has already announced to challenge the nomination of the former federal information minister in the NFC  award in the court of law.
