QUETTA: Balochistan has witnessed an increasing number of novel coronavirus cases on Wednesday. Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani confirmed 33 new cases of coronavirus in the province. With the confirmation of fresh cases, the tally has risen to 281 cases in the province. The COVID-19 has caused two deaths up till now.

“Coronavirus continues to spread fast in Balochistan”, Mr. Shahwani said, warning of more cases ahead.

He said the government has decided to keep continue lockdown till the 30th of June to halt the spread of coronavirus in the province. “Traders community is pressurizing government to end lockdown”, Mr. Shahwani said, adding that the construction sector was allowed to operate with the opening of shops related to construction.

Mr. Shahwani said four laboratories were being established in Balochistan’s divisions to make sure the conducting of tests in other parts of the province. “We intend to conduct 50,000 tests”, he mentioned.

To a question, he said birds shops owners were allowed to open their shops.
