CHAMAN: Pak-Afghan border at Chaman has been closed on Monday to halt corona virus. The federal interior ministry has directed the law enforcement agencies to shut down the border to halt the spread of corona virus. The step has been  taken after reports of corona virus cases in neighboring Afghanistan. The border would be closed for a week.

In Pakistan, the health ministry has confirmed four corona virus cases. Two cases have been confirmed in Sindh province and two in the federal capital, the federal health adviser Dr. Zafar Mirza said in a statement.

All trade and business activities plus movement of the people have been suspended at the border to halt the deadly virus. At Chaman border, daily around 8000 people cross the border. People living on both sides of the border have blood relations and business partnership.

Pakistan’s Balochistan province shares 1200 km border with Afghanistan.
