At least four security personnel were martyred in a terrorist attack in the Sherani district of Balochistan province on Sunday morning. According to levies sources three levies officials and a frontier corps personnel were martyred when their check post located in the Dana Sar area of Sherani district was attacked by terrorists.

Sherani Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bilal Shabbir confirmed the fatalities to reporters, adding that the exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists continued for almost two hours.

Another FC personnel was injured whose condition was out of danger and that a terrorist was killed during the exchange of fire, while two others were injured.

DC Shabbir mentioned: “The companions of the injured terrorists succeeded in taking them away. The body of the dead terrorist has been handed over to the CTD (Counter-Terrorism Department).

The dead bodies of the martyred soldiers were brought to the district headquarters hospital Zhob. A large number of people of the area reached the hospital when the dead bodies were brought. Heartbreaking scenes were witnessed when the dead bodies of the martyred personnel were brought to the hospital.

The martyred policemen were residents of district Sherani

The martyred personnel were identified as sub inspector of police Bahadur Khan, Muhammad Afzal and Baaz Khan of district Sherani.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo strongly condemned the attack and directed the district administration to arrest the culprits behind the attack. In a statement issued after the attack, Mr. Bizenjo said the perpetrators of the attack would be brought to justice and would punished as per law.

This incident has come a day after unknown miscreants lobbed a hand grenade at a police station in Quetta. One policeman was injured in the attack. Security has been tightened in and around Quetta city in the aftermath of the attack at police station.
