Court declares appointment of 32 coordinators to CM Balochistan illegal

Balochistan government on Monday submitted a report about 30 coordinators and two spokesmen in the Balochistan High Court (BHC).

Advocate General Balochistan, Muhammad Asif Reki Advocate submitted the report at a division bench comprising Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Mr. Justice Muhammad Amir Rana. The division bench of the high court resumed the hearing on Monday.

Four lawyers appeared before the court

Almost four lawyers of the coordinators to the Chief Minister Balochistan also appeared before the court and pleaded that they would reply to the notice.

The government has submitted its response to the court through the Advocate General, and there is no need for everyone to individually submit the reply, Chief Justice, Mr. Naeem Akhtar Afghan said.

The petitioner says the government has no legal power

Muhammad Sadiq Khilji, a lawyer has challenged the appointment of 30 coordinators and 2 spokespersons to the Chief Minister Balochistan. Mr. Khilji pleaded that CM Balochistan has appointed 30 coordinators despite the financial crisis.

Although, the government has repeatedly stated that the coordinators were recruited on an honorary basis. The hearing of the case was adjourned till April 28.
