Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo on Saturday announced not to use any bulletproof and bombproof vehicles in the future. The Chief Minister directed his principal secretary to park all bulletproof and bomb-proof vehicles and stop using them.

In most cases, poor security personnel sacrifice and VIPs survive attacks: Bizenjo

CM Balochistan noted that in most cases, it has been witnessed that security personnel sacrifice their lives and the VIPs travel in bulletproof and bomb-proof vehicles during terrorist attacks.

“We have to protect the people rather than ourselves”, Mr. Bizenjo said. Mir Quddus Bizenjo stated that if death was coming then none can stop it.

“No VIP route”

“There should be no VIP visit route for me”, Mr. Bizenjo directed his principal secretary and other high-level officials. Masses should not face problems because of our VIP visits, he mentioned.

Quddus Bizenjo stated that the government was committed to adopting an austerity drive to translate its words into action.

VIPs attacked in Balochistan in the past

Chief Minister’s announcement has come a few days after repeated terrorist attacks in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. In the past, convoys of the former chief minister, Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani and former Governor of Balochistan, Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi were targeted through bomb explosions. However, they both survived the attacks.

Masses have welcomed the announcement made by Chief Minister Balochistan. Although, they were still skeptical about the implementation of the announcement made by the CM in this regard.

There has also been no response from provincial ministers, members of the assembly and senior officials in this regard.
