Armed men opened fire and killed two policemen and injured another in the Kuchlak area of the provincial capital. Police sources said armed men opened fire at the policemen in the Killi Spin area of Kuchlak.
Two policemen were killed on the spot, whereas, one sustained injuries. Police sources said one attacker was also killed when policemen retaliated. The dead bodies of the policemen were shifted to the Kuchlak hospital.
Police reach the spot and started an investigation into the incident
Police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. The motive behind the attack could not be ascertained immediately.
Militants in the past have repeatedly attacked police and other law enforcement agencies in the Kuchlak area of Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan province.
CM Balochistan condemns the attack
Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo took notice of the attack and directed the police to apprehend the culprits behind the attack. In a statement issued after the attack, the CM said the perpetrators of the attack would be brought to justice.
Balochistan Home Minister, Mir Ziaullah Langove also condemned the attack and directed the police to make sure an immediate arrest of the attackers.
