The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has asked the provincial government to submit records about the appointment of coordinators and spokespersons to the Chief Minister of Balochistan. A division bench of the BHC comprising Chief Justice, Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Mr. Justice Amir Nawaz Rana passed this directive while hearing a constitutional petition filed against the appointment of around 30 coordinators to the Chief Minister Balochistan.

Appointment of coordinators to CM Balochistan

The petitioner, Muhammad Sadiq Khilji Advocate challenged the appointment of around 30 coordinators and two spokespersons of the CM Balochistan. Chief Justice BHC, Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan directed the government to submit records about the coordinators and spokespersons.

The government should apprise the court about the provision of facilities to the coordinators: CJ

“The court should be apprised about the provision of facilities to the coordinators”, the top judge of the province ordered. Muhammad Asif Reki, the Advocate General of Balochistan presented the provincial government during the case. The hearing of the case was adjourned till April 14.

Balochistan government has appointed around 30 coordinators to the Chief Minister Balochistan. The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) sources said all the coordinators were appointed on an honorary basis and no facilities were provided to them.

The appointment of coordinators to the CM Balochistan has been criticized on social media by people belonging to various walks of life who termed their appointments a burden on the national exchequer.
