Record Rs:5.4 Million books sold in Makran in February

Record books of Rs:5.4 million were sold in the month of February during two separate book festivals in Makran, Balochistan. A total of two book fairs were organized in Makran in February attracting a large number of book lovers.
Authors, literary figures, intellectuals, journalists, and writers from across the country participated in book festivals.
Recently, a 4 day RCD Council book fair ended in Gwadar. Rs: 1.9 Million books were sold in this book fair. Prof. Dr. Hoodbhoy was the chief guest at the event. “Selling of Rs:1.9M books now and books worth Rs.3.5M in remembering Atta Shad Literary festival in Turbat shows that the land of Makran division is book lovers”, Mr. Hood bhoy said in the conclusion.
Makran tops Balochistan in Literacy rate:
Makran division has topped Balochistan in literacy rate and ranked 8th on the national level as per the 2017 census. Overall the literacy rate as per the 2017 census stands at 43.58 percent. Out of 34 districts, 6 districts in Balochistan have made improvements in the literacy rate.
Balochistan turns to books:
For the last 5 years, students of Balochistan have performed better in national and provincial level exams. Every year hundreds of young competent minds from Balochistan take admissions to good educational institutions throughout Pakistan.
