Balochistan government decides to construct 7 resorts at coastline

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddoos Bizenjo approved the establishment of a higher education commission and a search committee for the appointment of vice-chancellors to improve the affairs of the public sector universities of the province.  

The Chief Minister has directed to start the necessary amendments and legislation process immediately in view of the legal and constitutional aspects of the powers given to the province after the eighteenth amendment and in this regard, a summary has been sought from the Law Department.

It is noteworthy that after the eighteen amendment, the power of appointing VCs and pro VCs of the universities is with Chief Minister.

Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Imran Gichki expressed these views during a meeting with the joint delegation of the Balochistan University Academic Staff Association and Joint Action Committee.

The delegation was led by General Secretary Academic Staff Association Farid Khan Achakzai. The delegation apprised the Principal Secretary of the Chief Minister about the financial problems faced by the university employees and the university.

The delegation thanked the Chief Minister for the bailout package of Rs 30 crore given to the university by the Chief Minister and the delegation also requested some amendments to the University Act.

The Principal Secretary said that “the establishment of academic merit and solving the problems of these institutions is the prime priority of CM Balochistan”. The reports of the delegation will be submitted to the Chief Minister for approval, he assured.
