Additional District and Session Judge Quetta one Mr. Shamsuddin Sarpara convicted an accused to life imprisonment and a fine of rupees 200,000 in the case of murdering Sohbat Khan Kakar in Nawa Killi area of Quetta.
In case of non-payment of fine, the accused will have to undergo further imprisonment. The court directed to preserve the case of the other 3 absconding accused named in the case. According to the prosecution, accused Ghanam Rang, fugitive accused Badrang, Saleem Noorzai, Nazargai and others killed Sohbat Khan through firing in Quetta last year in February.
Sohbat Khan Kakar was killed while others were injured by firing in Nawa village on which the police filed a case against the accused and presented the challan in the court. Yesterday, the judge of the court pronounced a safe verdict in the case and sentenced the accused Ghanam Rang to life imprisonment.
In case of non-payment of fine, the accused will have to undergo another 6 months imprisonment. The court sentenced the accused to another 7 years imprisonment and a fine of 50 thousand rupees.
The court directed to keep the 3 fugitive accused Badrang, Saleem Noorzai and Nazrgai safe in the case.
It should be noted taht the killing of a young man was over a land dispute in Nawa Killi, a suburb of Quetta last year. After the incident there was a strong public reaction and this issue was also discussed in the Balochistan Assembly.
