School built with the support of non-government organization and a local teacher in Khuzdar

QUETTA: The plight of bare-footed school children in the rugged mountains of Ornach Khuzdar Balochistan made headlines in recent. A video shared by BBC urdu prompted the Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Quddus Bizenjo to take notice of the plight of school. Overnight, rooms were constructed and a hut-like school was turned into a well-furnished educational institution located in the most remote area of Balochistan.

“We are committed to improve the plight of schools across Balochistan”, CM Bizenjo said in a statement. He said the government was determined to promote education across the province, legging behind other provinces in terms of key social indicators.

Balochistan Education Foundation (BEF) included a school in its list of schools that run on grants, this school was established on the basis of self-help in Killi Akiro Kabari a village in district Khuzdar.

The founder of the school, Muhammad Farooq, was also given a job in the Balochistan Education Foundation in recognition of his valuable services to the development of education in his area.

Number of students is increasing in the school

The BBC aired a report on the self-help-built school for boys and girls in a remote and underprivileged area of Khuzdar.

Muhammad Farooq, a person from the area, established this school with his self-help, the non-governmental organization also helped Muhammad Farooq.

Balochistan’s Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudous Bizenjo directed Chief Secretary Balochistan Abdul Aziz Aqeeli to take the school under government patronage on the BBC report.

The chief minister has also directed the education department to include the school expansion project in the upcoming PSDP.

The Chief Minister says that the civil society working in the education sector will be encouraged and patronized in every possible way so that other people can also contribute to this good work.
