Balochistan faces financial crises: CM Bizenjo decides to meet PM

Balochistan is facing serious financial crises for the last few months and work on various projects has been stopped because of a lack of funds. Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddoos Bizenjo decided to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with all parliamentary leaders of the provincial parties of the Balochistan Assembly, an official handout said on Wednesday.

Mr. Bizenjo will also draw the PM’s attention to the slow progress in the implementation of federal government-funded projects. Before meeting with the Prime Minister, Mr. Bizenjo will take all political leadership, members of the Senate, and the National Assembly into confidence with regard to the financial crisis.

CM instructs P&D and finance department to prepare a comprehensive briefing

The chief minister instructed the planning & development department and the finance department to prepare a comprehensive briefing on the progress of federal projects and the financial situation of the province.

Chief Minister said that in this meeting the Prime Minister will be given a full briefing and it is hoped that the Prime Minister will listen to our requests with compassion and attention.

Opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly, Malik Sikandar Advocate, Zamarak Khan Achakzai of the Awami National Party (ANP), Abdul Khaliq Hazara, the provincial minister and Chief of Hazara Democratic Party (HDP), Naseebullah Marri of the Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI), Asad Baloch of the Balochistan National Party (Awami) and others would also accompany the CM during his meeting with the premier.

“All MPAs are angry over lack of funds”

This decision has been made after a lack of funds with the P&D department for the execution of the development projects in various districts of Balochistan. Mr. Bizenjo led the provincial government had allocated around Rs. 200 billion for the public sector development program. Out of this 72 billion rupees was a deficit.

“All MPAs are angry over lack of funds”, a well-placed officer at the Balochistan Finance Department told Daily Quetta Voice via telephone. He said the answer is simple i.e. lack of funds.
