GWADAR: Chief of Gwadar Rights Movement (GRM), Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman on Thursday claimed that the Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo, Balochistan National Party (Mengal) Chief, Sardar Akhtar Mengal and Hamal Kalmati, the MPA forgot people of the province in general and Gwadar in particular.

The protest of GRM in Gwadar entered the 15th day on Thursday. The GRM has been protesting against illegal trawling, unnecessary checking, and delays in the implementation of its charter of demand.

“Well-wishers of Balochs forgot after getting ministries”

“Well-wishers of Balochs forgot everything after getting government positions”, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman claimed. He said present rulers were least bothered about the plight of the people in Gwadar and the solution to their issues.

“They are interested in ministries rather than serving the Baloch masses”, the Maulana said. The GRM Chief lashed out at the provincial and federal governments for their failure to address the issues pertaining to the port city of the country.

The protesters have blocked the main Gwadar Chowk to press the provincial government for acceptance of their demands. They vowed that the protest would continue till acceptance of their demands.

“15 days on, so far, no government official has come to meet the protesters”, Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman said. He claimed that incompetent people were imposed on Balochistan and they were least bothered about the issues relating to the province.

The GRM Chief reiterated that despite repeated assurances, illegal trawling was going on in the sea under what he called the nose of influential people. “We want an end to this practice”, the Maulana said, adding that the protesters would not call off their protest until all demands are met. The protest was underway till the filing of this report.
