At least five people were injured in a blast in Balochistan’s Khuzdar city on Tuesday. Police sources said the bomb went off at the main Chamrok chowk. Police said a vehicle was targeted through a hand-held bomb in Khuzdar.
The injured were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. An emergency was imposed in the Khuzdar teaching hospital to provide medical treatment to the injured by the blast.
Police sources said Naib Abdul Ghani and Malik Abdul Latif Shahwani were also among the injured. Malik Latif Shahwani is a leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). “It seems Mr. Shahwani’s vehicle was targeted in the blast”, Police said.
Policemen reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway. Security was tightened in and outside Khuzdar to avert another untoward incident, police said. The vigilance of vehicles and people leaving and entering the city was enhanced.
Langove condemns the attack
Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove strongly condemned the blast and directed the police and district administration to submit a report in this regard. In a statement issued after the blast, Mr. Langove said the perpetrators involved in the attack would be brought to justice. He said the government has instructed all law enforcement agencies to apprehend the culprits behind the attack.
