QUETTA: Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (JUI) and former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan vowed to give tough to Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo as the ice melted between the two on Monday night. Jam Kamal visited the residence of Maulana Abdul Wasey, the JUI Balochistan Chief and sought reconciliation.

“No issue this happens in politics”, Maulana Wasey replied to the visiting former CM of Balochistan. Jam Kamal and former provincial ministers Saleem Khoso and Arif Jan Muhammad Hassani sought an apology over an incident inside the assembly premises on October 18, 2021. Maulana Abdul Wahid Siddiqui, the JUI F lawmaker was injured when an armored vehicle hit the gate of the Balochistan Assembly during a protest of opposition lawmakers against the Jam Kamal-led government.

“We would give a tough time to the present government”, Maulana Wasey told reporters. The JUI F lawmakers and Jam Kamal held a separate meeting, which discussed all ways and means to mount pressure on the present government.

“We developed a consensus to launch a joint political struggle”, Jam Kamal Khan

“We developed a consensus to launch a joint political struggle”, Jam Kamal Khan said. He said the two parties were committed to improving governance and pressurizing the present setup to do more for the flood-affected people.

In response to a question about JUI’s key ally Balochistan National Party (BNP), Maulana Wasey said, “some members of BNP have an access to the bedroom of the CM”. There was no immediate response from the BNP Mengal in this regard.

The two parties had supported Bizenjo in no confidence motion

The two key opposition parties including JUI and BNP had supported a no-confidence motion against the former CM Jam Kamal Khan in October last year. Since then, the two opposition parties were supporting the incumbent CM.

However, differences developed as the incumbent CM Bizenjo rejected the charter of demand of the JUI F. The religious party wanted to be a coalition partner in the Bizenjo-led government. However, it wanted a lion’s share.
