Unknown miscreants lobbed a hand grenade at the new Sariab police station in Quetta on Tuesday night. Police sources said one person was injured in the blast. The injured policeman was rushed to a civil hospital for medical treatment. The hospital sources said the condition of the injured personnel is out of danger.

The miscreants escaped unhurt from the spot. Senior police officers reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway.

Security was tightened on Sariab road and other areas of the provincial capital after the blast. This blast has come three days after a hand grenade killed a rickshaw driver and injured over a dozen people in the Sabzal Road area of Quetta.
