Balochistan government calls Pak Army to cope with floods situation

QUETTA: The Balochistan government on Friday called Pak Army to cope with the floods situation in the province. The Balochistan Home and Tribal Affairs Department sent a letter to the Armed forces to assist the provincial government in rescue and relief operations, an official handout issued on Friday night said.

The military would be deployed in severe flood-hit districts of Balochistan, the handout mentioned. The assistance of the Pak Army is necessary to reopen highways, it said.

The government has called the army as the death toll rose to 238 including 71 children and 55 women in Balochistan on Friday.
