Corruption breeds inefficiency that slows down economic development: DG NAB

In Balochistan, an employee in 9th grade has illegally made assets worth Rs.200 million. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a reference against the accused Khalid Bhatti, a medical technician at the Muharma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital Quetta.

“NAB got undeniable solid evidence of illegal properties of the accused”, the Spokesman NAB said in a statement issued on Monday. The illegal assets include two commercial plazas, several luxurious cars, houses, and acres of agricultural land in Quetta, Lahore, and Sahiwal city of Panjab made in the names of his wife and the business partner.

The investigation into the corruption case further revealed that the accused had made the assets in the name of his wife and benamidar and business partner Faqir Hussain.

After gathering substantial proof, NAB Balochistan filed a reference with the accountability court in Quetta.

It may be mentioned here that the accused is already in jail on judicial remand in yet another corruption case involving millions of rupee corruption in the purchase of anti-rabies injection also filed by the NAB Balochistan.
