KHUZDAR: Police claimed to have arrested an alleged killer of senior journalist Athar Mateen from Balochistan’s Khuzdar on Tuesday evening. Police conducted a raid in civil colony Khuzdar and arrested the alleged killer identified as Abid, police sources said. During the raid, the alleged killer of senior journalist Athar Mateen and three other suspects were also taken into custody.

The main culprit was trying to flee in a women’s dress when arrested by police. Police said the killer was shifted to Karachi for interrogation. Athar Mateen was working as a producer in Samaa TV.

Armed accused had opened fire and killed Athar Mateen in the North Nazimabad area of Karachi. Journalists across the country had demanded the arrest of culprits involved in the murder of Athar Mateen. Journalists staged protest demonstrations in Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, and Peshawar and demanded the arrest of the culprit.
