QUETTA: Prime Minister, Imran Khan on Tuesday said that foreign elements were behind prevailing unrest in Balochistan. The Premier and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa arrived in Balochistan’s Noshki to spend way with troops who bravely repulsed terrorist attacks the other day.

“The elements abroad at the behest of their masters want to cause harm to this country”, Imran Khan said. He however stated that the sacrifices and bravery of frontier corps and other security personnel were unparalleled in fighting against the terrorists.

The Prime Minister announced a 15 percent increase in the salaries of frontier corps (FC) and Rangers. “Nation standby you”, he told the troops in Noshki. He said Allah gives a special reward to those who sacrifice their lives for the country and nation.

“Your bravery and sacrifices are unprecedented”, Imran Khan said. He said the masses, government, and security forces have joined hands to foil the conspiracies of the enemy. “Terrorists cannot succeed”, he stated.

Imran Khan recalled that the sacrifices and bravery of security forces defeated the terrorists throughout the country in 2003- 4. He said for the first time his government has launched record development projects in Balochistan to bring it at par with other parts of the country.

Work to start on Chaman-Karachi highway: PM

He said the present government has launched the biggest project i.e. Karachi to Chaman highway to reduce the suffering of the people and improve life here. He said that Balochistan covers half of the country in terms of area but at the same time, the province’s population was less. “We have decided to spend on the people of Balochistan, FATA, and Gilgit Biltistan”, he announced.

Regarding inflation, Imran Khan stated that it was an international issue and the prices also skyrocketed in US and UK. Despite this, around 100 corporations earned Rs.950 billion. “I requested them to increase the salaries of those working with them”, he said.

The PM’s visit has come a few days after the security forces killed 20 terrorists and 12 security personnel were also martyred during an exchange of fire.
