Quetta Videos: Dozens of influential people also involved: Police Sources

In the Quetta videos scandal, dozens of influential people from various walks of life also are involved, police sources revealed. The gang involved in raping and filming girls had also contacts in Lahore and Karachi.

“Very influential people were making programs with members of the gang”, a senior police officer told Quetta Voice. He requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

Police have arrested two accused identified as Hidayat Khilji and Khalil Khilji allegedly involved in raping and filming girls in Quetta’s Nichari road. Hitherto, police have registered three cases against the accused. Cases against the key accused Hidayat Khilji were registered in the Quaidabad police station on applications of victims’ mothers. Police also registered a case against the accused of possessing cocaine, heroin, and other drugs the other day.

“Members of the gang were organizing programs in Lahore, Karachi”

“The members were organizing program for influential people in Lahore and Karachi”, the police officer narrated. Hidayat Khilji was physically stable in police custody, this seems he was not a drug addict, he mentioned.

During the interaction with this scribe, the police officer preferred not to mention the names of the influential people. “Dozens of influential people”, he said, giving no other details. “No pressure on police and we are independently working on the case”, he added.

Location of girls traced to Kabul Afghanistan

The police officer informed that the location of the two girls, the victims of the gang have been traced to Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. Both girls are living in a neighborhood in Kabul, he added.

The Quetta girls scandal sparked protests in Quetta and Islamabad. Hazara community women also staged a protest demonstration in Quetta to mount pressure on the government to punish the accused behind the scandal.
