ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice of the Gwadar rights movement’s protest on Sunday. The Premier took to social media network Twitter and promised to take action against illegal fishing by trawlers.
Mr. Khan’s statement has come as the protesters staged a mammoth rally the other day in the country’s port city. Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman, a cleric from the Jamaat e Islami (JI) has been leading the men and women protesters.
“There would be strong action against illegal trawling”, PM Imran Khan said. He said he would speak to Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo in this regard. CM Balochistan has welcomed taking notice by the Premier. In a statement issued to the press after the premier’s notice, Mr. Bizenjo stated that the demands of the Gwadar protesters were part of the government’s policy from the very first day.
