Accountability Court Quetta convicts food controller to 5 years RI

QUETTA: Accountability Court (AC) in Quetta has convicted an assistant controller food to 5 years rigorous imprisonment in a corruption case. Judge of the AC Quetta, Aftab Ahmed Loan has awarded the punishment of the accused involved in food embezzlement on Tuesday afternoon, the Spokesman NAB said.
NAB Balochistan had presented undeniable evidence before the court in this regard. Solid evidence against the accused ensured conviction of the accused, he added. The court also fined the accused 2.5 million rupees in the corruption case.
Zameer Chalgari appeared on behalf of NAB in court. According to details, Assistant Food Controller Muhammad Ajmal had done embezzlement in wheat bags in Loralai. An investigation was launched against the accused.
Injection purchase case in the health department
The AC Judge, Aftab Ahmed Loan also rejected the bail application submitted by the former director-general of health Balochistan, Shakir Baloch, former medical superintendent Bolan Medical Complex Hospital (BMCH), Ghaffar Baloch in the anti-rabies injection purchase case. The accused are already in jail over embezzlement charges.
NAB Balochistan had arrested the accused after getting solid information about their involvement in the embezzlement case. The accused had inflicted Rs. 400 million’s loss to the national exchequer. The accused had submitted an application to seek bail from the court on Tuesday.
Be aware of fake NAB officers in Balochistan
NAB Balochistan has stepped up efforts against the corrupt elements in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. This conviction of the accused and cancellation of bail application has come a day after the NAB warned the officers about fake officers calling the people. Some elements were active in calling the NAB accused and government officers portraying themselves to be important officers of the organization. The Intelligence wing of the accountability bureau has launched an action against the elements making fake calls to the accused.
