Voter lists to be published till January 25, 2022, across Balochistan

QUETTA: Initial voters lists would be published till January 25, 2022, across Balochistan. This was revealed by the Joint Provincial Election Commissioner, Tahir Mansoor Khan while addressing a press conference on Thursday.

Other officials flanked him on the occasion. The officials briefed the journalists about the verification and registration of voters in the electoral lists in Balochistan. Newsmen also put various questions regarding reforms in the ECP and the process of voters list verification in the province.

Mr. Khan said initial voter lists would be published timely to facilitate voters throughout the country. He said voters’ data entry process would commence from December 7 to January 5. He informed that final voters lists would be published and displayed till April 13, 2022.

Tahir Mansoor Khan stated that voter verification was underway from November 7 to December 6 in Balochistan. Election commission officials will be visiting each house to verify voters’ lists. Mr.  Khan mentioned that the role of ECP was crucial in ensuring fair and transparent elections.

He said the ECP was committed to removing all mistakes and correcting all information about every voter. Mr. Khan urged the people to cooperate with the official engaged in the verification process of voters lists.

The number of voters in Balochistan is more than 4.8 million

The number of male voters in Balochistan is 2,753,946, female voters are 2,047,104, and eunuch voters are 81. Thus, the total number of voters in Balochistan is 4,801,131. The population of Balochistan as per the 2017 consensus is around 1,23,00,000.

According to a statement by the Election Commission earlier, voters can get the details of their voter registration by sending an SMS of their ID card number to 8300, besides the contact number of the district election commissioner’s office, the helpline number of the Election Commission and the website link of the Election Commission.
