NAB Balochistan launches corruption investigation against Majid Abro

Syed Ali Shah :

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan has launched an investigation into the alleged corruption of former health minister, Majid Abro. In a letter obtained by this daily, NAB has launched an inquiry into assets beyond means and charges of corruption against the former minister.

“The minister has appeared before an investigation team of NAB”, sources in the anti-corruption bureau confirmed to Quetta Voice.

Majid Abro had served as health minister during former chief minister, Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo’s cabinet. Mr. Abro was accused of irregularities and violation of merit in official decisions.

Abro elected MPA during the 2013 elections

Abro was elected as a member of the Balochistan Assembly during the 2013 general elections from PB-28. He was elected on the ticket of the Jamoot Qaumi Movement. However, he had then joined the Pakistan Muslim League (N).

NAB has recently intensified operations against corrupt elements in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. This investigation has come days after land allotment scandals in Gwadar, the country’s port city, and the conviction of officials of the food department Balochistan.
