Aerial surveillance of Aushora procession in Quetta

QUETTA: Balochistan government has decided aerial surveillance of Aushora procession in Quetta to ensure better monitoring. Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan chaired a high-level meeting, which reviewed security arrangements about Muharram ul Haram on Monday.

Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove, provincial minister, Abdul Khaliq Hazara, principal secretary to the CM, Zahid Saleem, and Commissioner Quetta Division, Asfandyar Khan participated in the meeting.

The government has prepared a comprehensive security plan with regard to Muharram ul Haram and especially during the Aushora procession. Foolproof security would be provided to all Aushora processions across Balochistan.

Security arrangements reviewed in the aftermath of unfolding events in Afghanistan 

Chief Minister Balochistan underlined the need for better and effective coordination among all institutions. The meeting also reviewed security arrangements in the aftermath of unfolding events in neighboring Afghanistan, an official handout released on Monday evening said.

Police, Levies, and Frontier Corps (FC) have evolved a joint security mechanism to make sure peace on the eve of Muharram ul Haram.

7th Muharram procession ends peacefully in Quetta 

The 7th Muharram’s procession ended peacefully in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. The procession was taken out amid tight security in Quetta. The mourners went through traditional routes in Quetta.

District administration Quetta had taken strict security measures on the eve of 7th Muharram’s procession. Police, Levies, and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel deployed in all sensitive parts of the city and on the route of the procession.

Processions were also taken out in Sibi, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, and other parts of Balochistan. All processions ended peacefully amid tight security across the province.

The government had also suspended mobile service for a whole day in Quetta to maintain the order. Citizens faced difficulties because of the suspension of the mobile service.
