Quetta: Four killed in Zhob Loralai traffic accidents

At least four people were killed in two separate traffic accidents in Balochistan’s Zhob and Loralai districts on Sunday. Levies sources said two young men died as their vehicle turned turtle on Kach Amaqzai road Loralai.

The young men identified as Omar Khan and Sardar Khan, residents of Zhob. Levies said the incident happened because of over-speeding. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which turned turtle. The vehicle was also severely damaged.

The dead bodies were brought to Loralai hospital. However, doctors handed over the dead bodies to heirs after the completion of necessary procedures.

Two died when motorcycles collided in Loralai

In Loralai: two people died when two motorcycles collided on Quetta-Loralai road near Abasin hotel. The victims were identified as Abdul Wahab and Muhammad Hanif, both residents of Loralai. The dead bodies shifted to Loralai teaching hospital.

A large number of relatives of the victims reached the hospital to console the broken families.

On July 23rd, two young men died and two injured in the Selyaza area of Zhob district. The condition of one injured is still critical.

Most of the traffic accidents are caused by motorcycles

Aziz Ahmed Jamali, the Chief Executive Officer Medical Emergency Response Center (MERC) revealed that 78 percent of those injured in road accidents were bike riders. “Since there is no custom of wearing a helmet that is why most of the riders suffered head injuries”, he said.

14 emergency response centers established on highways 

MERC continues to provide service at three highways from Quetta-Karachi, Zhob, and Chaman. “We have established 14 emergency response centers on highways to make sure timely provision of services to people”, he said. For the first time, MERC has collected data of the injured and dead in traffic accidents in Balochistan.
