Usman Kakar: Judicial commission to probe death of former senatorĀ

The Balochistan government on Sunday formed a judicial commission to probe into the sad demise of Usman Khan Kakar, the central leader of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP).

The commission comprises of Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Mr. Justice Zaheer Uddin Kakar, a notification issued by the Home and Tribal Affairs department said. The former senator breathed his last on June 23rd in a private hospital in Karachi.

“The family of the deceased claims that the death seems to be unnatural and merits inquiry for the cause of death”, a letter addressed to the Registrar Balochistan High Court (BHC) said. “Keeping in view importance of the case, the Provincial Government has decided that a judicial commission may be constituted under Sub Section-1 Section (3) of the Balochistan Tribunal Inquiry Ordinance 1969”, the notification elaborated. It further stated that the commission would ascertain the cause, leading to the death of Usman Khan Kakar.

CM announced the formation of JC through Twitter

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan also took to social media network Twitter and announced the formation of the judicial commission.

 

CM Jam Kamal, former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Maryam Aurangzaib, deputy speaker national assembly, Qasim Khan Suri, Asghar Khan Achakzai, the parliamentary leader of Awami National Party (ANP) and other high-ups also visited Muslim Bagh to express condolence with the family members of Usman Khan Kakar. Quetta Voice also obtained a copy of the notification issued by the home and tribal affairs department.

Son demands investigationĀ 

Khushal Khan, the elder son of Usman Khan had termed the demise of his father as unnatural death and called it a ‘murder’. “Government is ready for any kind of investigation”, CM Balochistan said on Sunday on the eve of condolence.
