Mastung: 4 female teachers injured in a firing incident

At least 4 female teachers were injured in a firing incident in Mastung district of Balochistan on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner Mastung, Muhammad Ilyas Kibzai, and other officials reached the spot soon after the attack.
Mr. Kibzai said the armed accused opened fire at a van carrying female teachers. The teachers were on their way from Mastung to Dasht when attacked by armed terrorists, he added.
Female teachers suffered bullet wounds and shifted to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani hospital for medical treatment.

Mr. Kibzai said the incident happened in the Parangabad area of the Mastung district. The assailants fled away from the spot. Police and levies personnel reached the spot and launched an operation for the arrest of culprits.

Nawab Raisani condemns the attack

Former Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani has strongly condemned the incident. He termed this an attack on female education and assured the administration of full support in this regard.

Agha Omar Bangulzai condemns the attack

Former Home Minister Balochistan, Agha Omar Bangulzai has strongly condemned the terrorist act and called for the arrest of the culprits. In a statement issued to the press after the attack, Mr. Bangulzai said this was an attack on girls’ education in Mastung.  He however vowed the people of Mastung would foil such conspiracies against female education.


Mastung district is considered to be one of the most sensitive districts of Balochistan. Militants in the past have attacked security forces, pro-government politicians, and members of the ethnic Shia Hazara community. The district links Balochistan with Sindh Karachi and districts of Western Balochistan that border with neighboring Iran.
