Blast in Quetta injured 4 people

A blast in Quetta has injured 4 people in the Qambrani road area on Monday afternoon. “We have received four injured of the blast”, Dr. Kamran Kasi, the Medical Superintendent of civil hospital Quetta said. The blast heard far and wide in the city. Shopkeepers pulled down their shutters after the explosion.

Emergency imposed in the trauma center of the hospital to provide medical treatment to the injured. Police said the bomb exploded near the patrolling vehicle of the security forces. One security personnel was also among the injured. Police and rescue workers were quick at the scene to shift the injured to the hospital.

CM Balochistan condemns the attack

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has strongly condemned the terrorist act. In a statement issued after the blast, the CM termed it a cowardly act and vowed the bring the perpetrators to book.

Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani said police and other law enforcement agencies reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. Doctors are providing medical treatment to the injured of the blast, Mr. Shahwani said.

The blast has come three days after an explosion killed 7 people in Chaman, Pakistan’s bordering city with Afghanistan.

Maulana Luni targeted in the blast

The central leader of the Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (Idealogical), Maulana Qadir Luni was the target of the blast. The bomb planted in a motorcycle went off with a big bang as the rally in solidarity with oppressed Palestinians ended in the bordering city.

Speaking at a news conference, Maulana Luni stated, “I was the target of the blast”. He however said his party would continue to raise slogans against Israeli atrocities against the oppressed Palestinians.

Balochistan has seen a sharp rise in the number of terrorist acts recently. Panic prevailed among the people in the aftermath of repeated bomb explosions in Quetta and Chaman.
