Sardar Bhootani resigns as Balochistan cabinet minister

QUETTA: Sardar Saleh Bhootani, the Balochistan minister has resigned from the provincial cabinet following differences with Chief Minister, Jam Kamal Khan.

“I have submitted my resignation to the Governor Balochistan”, Sardar Bhootani told a hurriedly called press conference at his residence on Friday. The Governor’s secretariat also confirmed the resignation submitted by Sardar Bhootani.

“Yes, the Governor has accepted the resignation of Sardar Bhootani”, an official handout released by Governor Balochistan’s Secretariat confirmed. “I will continue to resist injustices within the party”, Sardar Bhootani said. This government has totally failed to improve governance, education and other sectors, he claimed.

“I seek forgiveness from people of Balochistan for being part of this cabinet”, he said.

Differences developed between CM and Sardar Saleh Bhootani 

On May 2nd, the Local government portfolio withdrawn from the Balochistan minister, Sardar Saleh Bhootani. Sardar Bhootani is a former chief minister and belongs to the ruling Balochistan Awami  Party (BAP). Bhootani elected from Lasbella district as a member provincial assembly on the ticket of BAP during the 2018 general elections.

Bhootani lashes out at the provincial government

The former minister lashed out at the provincial government for what he claimed its failure to address the grievances of the masses. “The government spent three years in mere statements and slogans”, he asserted. Sardar Bhootani claimed that Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan had failed to initiate development projects in the province.

War of words between BAP and PTI intensifies 

A fresh war of words between the main coalition partners in Balochistan dominated the political scene of the province earlier. War of words intensified between the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI). The two main coalition partners issued statements complaining against each other since the establishment of government.
