Balochistan Govt to reduce non-development expenditures in the budget

Balochistan government has decided to reduce non-development expenditures in the fast-approaching provincial budget. Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan chaired a high-level meeting that thoroughly reviewed development schemes, non-development schemes and other issues.

Briefing the participants of the meeting, Secretary Finance Balochistan, Pasand Khan Buledi informed that non-development expenditures would be reduced this year. He also briefed the meeting about the release of funds.

The meeting directed the Planning and Development (P&D) department to make sure timely provision of budget documents. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan directed the officers to make sure timely preparation of the budget and ensure inclusive development schemes.

The meeting reviewed “Apna Ghar Housing Scheme” for government employees, women empowerment, and other issues relating to the budget.

Jam Kamal Khan also directed the P&D department to expedite the process of implementation of development schemes under the federal Public Sector Development Program (PSDP). He stated that masses would be given relief in the forthcoming provincial budget and for this purpose, a strategy was being evolved.

This budget should help in a reduction in the ratio of poverty and unemployment in the province, the CM mentioned.

Balochistan Finance Minister, Zahoor Buledi, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Mathar Niaz Rana and other high ups also participated in the meeting.
