War within BAP widens as Jam questions impartiality of Speaker
Syed Ali Shah :

Political war within the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) continues to widen as Chief Minister Jam Kamal raised questions over the impartiality of Speaker Qudoos Bizenjo.
In a letter addressed to the Speaker Balochistan Assembly, “it has been collective observation from all treasury members that assembly business invites revamping”. This letter has come few days after  the portfolio of local bodies withdrawn from Sardar Saleh Bhootani, one of the key leaders of BAP.

Withdrawal of portfolio from Bhootani sparked a new debate

Withdrawal of portfolio was followed by a meeting between angry lawmakers of ruling party including Speaker Qudoos Bizenjo, Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi and Sardar Bhootani.
Although, Zahoor Buledi termed the gathering a routine meeting.
“The opposition members have been  found blatantly violating the Balochistan Assembly rules of 1974”, the letter mentioned.
There has been no response from the custodian of the house so far.
The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) has also asked the Speaker to return six vehicles in another letter viral on social media.
Opposition always dominates proceedings

Opposition members always dominate the assembly proceedings while commenting on point of order regarding masses issues. It has been observed that Government ministers either stay away from assembly proceedings or prefer to avoid countering opposition benches.
The ruling party has failed to ensure unity rather indvidualism and personalities have always been the hallmark of the party.
Sardar Bhootani had also held a meeting with the Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (F) to seek their support against the incumbent CM. However, Mr. Jam Kamal has welcomed any kind of no confidence motion.
Differences date back to the establishment of BAP

Differences within the ruling party are nothing new. It dates back to the establishment of BAP. Since then, war of words go on between CM Jam Kamal, Qudoos Bozenjo and Sardar Bhootani.
This battle is likely to be intensified and further cracks expected as the party has decided to hold intra-party elections.
