PM asks Governor Balochistan to resign

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday asked Governor Balochistan to step down as he intends to bring a new governor in the province. In a letter seen by the Quetta Voice, the Premier said “it has a pleasure to have worked with you, striving for the creation of a welfare  State and especially looking after the problems of Balochistan”.

Amid reports of replacing Justice (R) Amanullah Yaseenzai, the race for the slot of Governor Balochistan has also intensified. Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to remove the Governor, a senior leader of the Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) Balochistan told Quetta Voice.

“Khan Sab wants to bring his own party man as Governor’, the PTI leader mentioned.

He requested anonymity. News items published on some media portals suggest that Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to remove the current Governor. “Khan Sab wants to bring his own party man as Governor’, the PTI leader mentioned.

“This, of course, does not in any way reflect adversely on your competence or performance”, Imran Khan said. It is just the transformed political challenges Pakistan faces at present requires; I believe, a change, he concluded.

Federal government had appointed Justice Yaseenzai as Governor in 2018

Despite repeated attempts, the author was not able to speak to the sitting Governor Balochistan, Justice (R) Amanullah Yaseenzai. This is not for the first time that the news about the replacement of governor has made headlines rather such news items also published in the near past.
The Federal government had appointed Justice (R) Amanullah Khan Yaseenzai as the Governor Balochistan in October 2018 after the resignation of Muhammad Khan Achakzai as governor.
