Blast kills a policeman and injured 8 in Killa Abdullah

A blast has killed a policeman and injured another 8 people in Balochistan’s Killa Abdullah district on Wednesday. Rescue workers and people of the area rushed the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Abdullah Khan Mandokhail, the Deputy Superintendent of Police told Quetta Voice unknown miscreants had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) in a motorcycle. The motorcycle parked near a police vehicle exploded with a big bang, he said. The policeman who lost his life in the blast identified as Hikmatullah.

The blast rocks the Bazar

The blast also damaged the vehicle of the police. Soon after the incident, police and levies personnel reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway. The condition of the two injured is serious, Mr. Mandokhail informed.

The blast also smashed the glasses of nearby shops in the area. The shopkeepers pulled down shutters soon after the blast. Police and Levies personnel deployed in the bazaar to maintain the law and order situation in the aftermath of the explosion.

Home Minister condemns the incident 

Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove strongly condemned the incident and directed police to arrest the perpetrators of the terrorist act. “I express sympathies with the family members of martyred policeman”, the Minister said in a statement a short while ago.

Mr. Langove however vowed that the government would keep continuing fighting against the menace of terrorism.

This incident has come a week after a powerful blast hit Quetta’s Serena Hotel. The blast claimed five precious human lives and injured over a dozen people.
