Primary middle schools in Balochistan to remain closed till Eid

Primary and middle schools across Balochistan would remain closed till Eid ul Fitar. The government has taken this step in view of increasing cases of the COVID19. The Balochistan education department has made this decision in light of the recommendations by the NCOC, Sher Khan Bazai, the Secretary of Education said.

Academic activities from class one to eight will remain suspended 

Academic activities from class one to eighth will remain suspended till Eid in all public and private schools throughout the province, Mr. Bazai said. The government has however decided to keep high schools for students of class 9th and 10th in Balochistan, he mentioned.

The Secretary informed that examinations of class 9th and 10th will be continued across the province. Chief of the private schools association, Nazar Muhammad Bareech opposed the decision and termed it a conspiracy against the education sector.

1,26,000 students to appear in the exam

A total of 1,26,000 male and female students are appearing in the examination, Shaukat Ali Sarpara, the controller of Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) told daily Quetta Voice. The process of examination is smoothly underway in the province, Mr. Sarpara said on Sunday.

SBK to remain closed till April 30th 

Sardar Bahadur Khan (SBK) women’s university would remain closed after the outbreak of the third wave of COVID19. Academic activities would remain suspended from April 15 to 30th of April, a notification issued by the SBK said on Wednesday. The education department has already closed four schools located in the heart of Quetta city after rising COVID19 cases.

COVID19 cases surpassed 20,000 in Balochistan since its outbreak. However, the deadly virus has claimed 223 lives as per the statistics shared by the Corona Cell Balochistan. Although, the number of deaths caused by coronavirus is much higher than what is quoted by the health department.
