Accountability Court convicts HBL cashiers for massive fraud with consumers
An Accountability Court in Quetta has sentenced three cashiers of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) to a total of 18 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 180 million for fraud and embezzlement of millions of rupees from 57 bank consumers.
Judge Allah Dad Roshan, the judge of the Accountability Court announced the judgement. Prosecutor Rashid Zaib Golra from NAB followed the case.
Accused had made fake transfers from 57 bank consumers
As per details, the investigation of NAB Balochistan‘s HBL fraud case revealed that the bank’s cashiers namely Altaf Hussain, Nizamuddin, and Yar Mohammad conspired to embezzle cash and checks of 57 bank account holders transferring the same to various accounts.
The NAB filed a reference in the Quetta Accountability Court after gathering concrete evidence against the accused in the case referred by the bank.
