Quetta: Speakers call for promotion of national narrative

Speakers at a seminar called for the promotion of the national narrative to counter the enemy propaganda. A seminar regarding the national narrative for media men under the “Paigham e Pakistan” program held in Quetta Press Club.
“Media should promote national narrative and counter enemy propaganda”, Nadir Gul Bareech, the Chief Executive of the Balochistan Rural Support Program (BRSP) said. Senior journalists, social activists, and people belonging to various walks of life participated in the seminar.

“Islam promotes peace and tolerance”, renowned scholar, Dr. Atta ur Rehman said. The speakers thoroughly discussed the national narrative and all ways and means for its promotion.
“Journalists always try to ensure balanced reporting from Balochistan”, Saleem Shahid, a senior journalist said. “Narrative building crucial for defending ideological frontiers of the country”, journalist Syed Ali Shah said.

The speakers mentioned that journalists in Balochistan discharged their responsibilities in a very responsible way despite all threats and intimidation. “We have tried to support a positive image of Balochistan”, Raza ur Rehman, the President Quetta Press Club said.
The speakers urged the government to take practical and effective steps to promote State narrative and create awareness among the people. They also urged the youngsters to avoid the negative use of social media.
Fatima Khan, the host of the program also spoke about the importance of print, electronic and social media and urged the participants to play their key role in this regard.
